Edition 2006

From August 12th to the19th, the 2 Monterrey International Film Festival took place in several venues around the city.

The guest country was Germany, distinguished for being one of the great cinematographies having a vibrant contemporany industry. Thanks to this participation, the Festival was present for the first time at the 56 Berlin International Film Festival leading to an important german film and art presence during Festival.

With an attendance of over 10,000 the Festival matured, screening 197 films, 45 of them features and 152 short films from 42 countries of the five continents. The jury was made up from special and distiguided members of the International cinematographic comunity: Amy King (who visited the festival representing Patricia Finneran) SilverDocs programmer; Graça Selliman, director of the Image and Sound Museum, Sao Paulo; Luis Tovar, journalist and film critic; Marec Fritzinger, french filmmaker and visual artist; Sergio Molina (†), National Film Commisioner for Mexico, and David “Leche” Ruíz, mexican filmmaker.
